The second stage of the Cammino largely overlaps with the Sentiero Valtellina, the cycling and walking path that crosses the province of Sondrio from Bormio to Colico, following the course of the Adda River.

From the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cepina, the route follows the Sentiero Valtellina for a long stretch, passing through varied landscapes and heading toward Val Pola, a place etched in the memory of the people of Valtellina due to the 1987 flood, which changed the history of these areas. In Aquilone, the route passes by a small chapel commemorating the victims of that tragic event and continues into the area of S. Antonio Morignone, a village destroyed by a massive landslide from Mount Zangrillo.

Upon reaching the municipality of Sondalo, particularly the hamlet of Le Prese (where the road to the enchanting Val di Rezzalo, within the Stelvio National Park, begins), the route detours through the village, later rejoining the Sentiero Valtellina until Grailè, home to the ancient church of Madonna della Biorca.
The path continues through the surrounding countryside and arrives at the welcoming village of Mondadizza, with its typical narrow streets and the church of St. John the Baptist.
Upon reaching Sondalo, the trail climbs to the charming chapel of St. Agnes before entering the historic center, where you'll find the large parish collegiate church of St. Mary Major.

Leaving the town, the route continues through meadows and forest, reconnects with the Sentiero Valtellina, then exits near the hamlet of Vernuga, descending toward the historic center of Grosio, one of the main villages of Mid-Valtellina. Here, visitors encounter several important cultural landmarks: from the ancient church of St. George to Villa Visconti Venosta, and, near the border with Grosotto, the Rock Engravings Park featuring the famous Rupe Magna, one of the largest engraved rocks in the Alpine arc.
A beautiful mule track descends to the provincial road, and shortly after, the route reaches the ancient sanctuary of Grosotto, the end point of the second stage.
